I got a call this morning from Atlantic Outboard: “Your boat is done. We can put her in this afternoon.” So out went the “new” plan. It being a decent day and with everything running well, after a short shakedown and some instruction from the Atlantic folks, off John and I went from Westbrook to Guilford Yacht Club, a distance of about 12 nm.
More pictures and a description of the trip tomorrow, but in general the boat ran beautifully in two foot following seas, and we hit 18.5 knots wide open. She seems really comfortable at 12-13 knots, but I think we are burning fuel at a pretty good rate going that fast.
Totally dry bilges — a new experience for me on a wooden boat.
I am really tired.
Congratulations! Looks great!

She makes the Hinkley in the background look rather “common”.
Nicely done, Paul.

Don’t run that motor at WOT again until the first 10 hours.
