With Sundowner, MJsailing and even Tim Lackey posting videos, I wanted to be able to show you the deckhouse lights coming on and let hear my new speakers speaking, but with tucking in the CRM boats for the winter and other distractions, I was unable to pull this off. For sure next post.
Work has been forging ahead on the deckhouse. I filled, sanded, taped, painted and trimmed all the woodwork, and it looks nice. I needed a quick trip to the hardware store, since somewhere in all this painting, I used up 120 yards of Frog Tape. This was all a lot of heavy labor, but using my new foam roller roll-brush-reroll technique I am getting the results I want without worrying and re-dos.
Then I ran the wiring for the two central dome lights and got them in. They are LED’s from West Marine and look pretty good and cast a very nice light. Since the lights share wiring raceways with the stereo speakers, I got them installed and operational also.
The wiring runs in snap-together raceways from a company called Electriduct that sells them on Amazon. They are expensive, but make a very nice presentation. They are supposedly held to the ceiling and walls with adhesive tape, but based on the Amazon reviews, I also attached them with small screws. Coming into the deckhouse, you don’t see any wires at all running to the lights or speakers, which was exactly what I wanted.
I had my IPod set on shuffle, and the first song that came through the speakers was Bette Middler singing Rosemary Clooney’s great tune, “Memories of You.” I consider this a good sign versus Ozzie Osborne on the “Crazy Train” or Marty Robbins blasting out “Big Iron.”

There is no adapter available that will go around the carlin, but f these are the only wires that show, so be it
