June 1, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 1,072 Summer activities, jobs at the Connecticut River Museum, and the cold that won’t go away limited shop time to only 12 hours last week, a record low. And there were two days spent cooking a multi-course Austro-Hungarian dinner for friends and neighbors. Maybe this should count
Slogging On
May 24, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 1,060 A terrible head cold and other responsibilities limited time on the Tardis this week, but I did manage to start serious bonding work and finish a couple small carpentry projects. The chine is done in the forepeak, with one strip of 12 oz. biaxial tape 4″
Phase 2
May 17, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 1,040 If Phase I was the hull, Phase II has to be bonding and basic carpentry. Basically every piece of wood installed to date has to be glued to every other piece of wood with various combinations of epoxy, biaxial fiberglass tape and regular weave fiberglass tape.
I Can’t Resist
May 13, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 1,027 Still feeling pretty woozy after a 2:30 am wakeup call in Budapest Monday morning. But I did manage to reduce the beautiful rollover frame and the building frame to piles of scrap for the recycling center over the last couple days. Even though this is supposed
Building Frame Off

Tom is my shop neighbor and CEO of Construction Services Unlimited, the Connecticut Shoreline’s finest builder of custom homes and commercial buildings, and as you will see, a

April 23, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 986 The trailer has arrived and the flip time has been scheduled: 9 am Saturday. For any local readers who want to come on down we are at 338 Old Whitfield Street, Guilford, CT (east end of Guilford train station parking lot). The LoadMaster trailer looks great:
Bottom’s Up
April 20, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 957 Well of course the bottom’s up, since the boat is upside down — for about another week. But it is now nicely painted with two coats of black bottom paint. I’ve had several shop visitors ask how it is possible to know where the waterline is
Primer Is Done
April 18, 2015 Hours spent building to date: 943 The primer looks so good with three coats on, I can’t resist posting some pictures. It was a lot of work this week sanding the whole boat and solvent washing between coats, then painting, but quite rewarding as the finish got whiter and smoother every day.
